Transportation

Please follow instructions below on how to reach Rikkyo University or the hotels nearby.

From Narita Airport to Ikebukuro

Narita Airport (New Tokyo International Airport) is served by two railway lines, JR and Keisei. The railway stations are located under the airport terminal buildings. Limousine Bus is also available.
Keisei Skyliner
Take Keisei Skyliner to Nippori (~60 min ride on the train). Skyliner departs every 40 minutes for most of the day. At the Nippori station, transfer to JR Yamanote line on track no. 12 for Ikebukuro, which is the 6th station from Nippori with a ~15 min ride. Be careful not to take the Keihin-Tohoku line at Nippori, which has blue bands on the sides of the cars, whereas Yamanote line cars have green bands. It is recommended to purchase a ticket through Ikebukuro at Narita Airport (2080 yen = Keisei fare 1000 yen + Skyliner surcharge 920 yen + JR fare 160 yen).
Keisei express train
Keise also has express trains, which do not require surcharge, and the service is more frequent (every 20 minutes for most of the day). They tend to be more crowded with commuters. It takes ~72 minutes to Nippori. It is recommended to purchase a ticket through Ikebukuro at Narita Airport (1160 yen = Keisei fare 1000 yen + JR fare 160 yen).
JR Narita Express
Alternatively, you can take JR Narita Express to Ikebukuro (~93 min ride) or Shinjuku (~84 min ride). Do not take Narita Express for Yokohama. To reach Ikebukuro from Shinjuku, take JR Saikyo line (1st station, ~5 min ride) or JR Yamanote line (4th station, ~8 min ride) to Ikebukuro. The cost from Narita to Ikebukuro using Narita Express is 3110 yen.
Other trains
There are also slower trains to Nippori (Keisei) or Tokyo (JR). You might need to use them early in the morning or late at night.
Airport Limousine Bus
You can take Airport Limousine Bus from Narita Airport to downtown Ikebukuro (~ 2.5 hours ride, 3000 yen). The bus arrives at Holiday Inn Metropolitan Tokyo (Crown Plaza). Hotel Clarion Tokyo and Rikkyo University are 5 minutes walk from there. (You can also take 2-min ride on a taxi.)
