RIKEN ASI Distinguished Senior Scientist Yasunori Yamazaki wins Toray Science and Technology Prize

RIKEN Advanced Science Institute Distinguished Senior Scientist Yasunori Yamazaki was awarded the 52nd Toray Science and Technology Prize. Dr. Yamazaki was granted the price in recognition of his developmental research in the area of atomic physics and antimatter science using exotic beams. This prize is awarded each year to two scientists for distinguished achievements in science and technology. The awards ceremony was held on March 15.

It is truly an honor for me to receive this prize. In truth, the work for which I was awarded the prize, including cold antimatter science and highly charged ion science, was all done with many collaborators who played vital roles in the research. I am deeply grateful to these collaborators as well as the many colleagues who helped us in various ways.
