Support for university students and researchers

RIKEN is offering undergraduate and graduate students and researchers who have been affected by the East Japan disaster and the subsequent power shortages, opportunities to continue their research activities at RIKEN laboratories.

RIKEN has a widely diverse range of laboratories, and space and equipment varies from lab to lab. Applicants are asked to contact relevant laboratories directly and consult with the heads of those laboratories.

To university professors

RIKEN can host undergraduate and graduate students in its laboratories as student trainees or interns. Researchers can be hosted as visiting scientists.

If you have been involved or are currently involved in joint research with a RIKEN laboratory, contact the head of the partner RIKEN lab to discuss the possibilities for your students.

If you have no such connection with RIKEN, search through the list provided at the link below for RIKEN labs in the relevant fields of research and contact the heads of those labs regarding the possibilities for your students.

Please note that some labs may not be able to host students or researchers at this time.
