Dr. Hidenori Kimura will receive the Giorgio Quazza Medal from International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC).

The Giorgio Quazza Medal is an IFAC award presented to a distinguished control engineer every three years. Dr. Kimura will be the 11th winner and the first winner from Asia since the award was established in 1981.
The award ceremony will take place during the IFAC International World Congress which will be held in Milan, Italy in August 2011.

IFAC founded in 1957, is a multinational federation of National Member Organizations (NMOs), each one representing the engineering and scientific societies concerned with automatic control in its own country. At this time, fifty NMOs join in IFAC. Science Council of Japan represents some academic societies in Japan.
