Research Group for Molecular-informational Life Science
Research Areas
By focusing on the phenomena of materials creation beyond the hierarchy peculiar to the organism, material science is interlocked with life science as a common concept for information science. The aim of this research group is to quantitatively elucidate and apply the mechanism of molecular recognition, communication of information and energy transfer, which are the origin of life function. For these reason, a base network for study and personnel training is being built collectively and efficiently through cooperation of the four domestic research bases of RIKEN, Kyushu University, Hokkaido University and Osaka University, to conduct the advanced research coupled with personnel training such as schooling.

Research Subject
(1) Elucidation and quantification of fuzzy action mechanisms of living organisms
(2) Design and construction of novel information sharing systems and appearance of collective motion
