Research Areas

(1,2) It is important to know the localization and transport of plant hormones to understand the regulation of plant growth. We have developed a high-resolution plant hormone analysis system. We have analyzed unstable auxin intermediates by LC-MS and identified the main auxin biosynthesis pathway in plants. The pathway was so far unknown for 60 years. (3) Isolation and identification of new growth regulators from plants and microorganisms and study the roles of these chemicals in plants. (4) There are a couple of environmentally friendly agrochemicals whose mode of actions are still unknown. Using FOX lines of Arabidopsis, we will reveal the mode of actions of these chemicals.

Research Subject

  1. Identification of the main auxin pathway in plants.
  2. Improvement of comprehensive and high-sensitive plant hormone analyses.
  3. Development of new methods for analysis of novel bioactive compounds and their intermediates and metabolites.
  4. Development of new agrochemicals and study on their mode of action.
