Research Areas

Synthetic organic chemistry contributes tremendous to the development of material science, ranging from polymers to organic electronics. Research in our group intends to develop a multidisciplinary research program involving the triad of chemistry, electronic materials, and biomedical/biological investigations based on molecular and nano-assembled building blocks of organic conductive materials. These materials introduce electrical characteristics to build up the complexity necessary for further understanding of the targeted biological/biomedical issues. On the other hand, a thorough understanding of the relationship between
the molecular/nanostructural characteristics of organic conductive materials with its potential in biological application would explore another dimension of synthetic organic chemistry and polymer chemistry. Ultimately, our research effort would be engaged toward new areas in biomaterials science and engineering through the angle of synthetic organic chemistry.

Research Subject

  1. Anti-fouling conducting polymer biointerfaces as smart surface
  2. Molecular building blocks for hydrophilic conducting polymers
  3. Functional and nanostrucured surfaces for cell capturing
