The RIKEN Innovation Center (RInC) continues to work with the "baton zone" concept, first conceived of by Senior Advisor Eiichi Maruyama, in which researchers at RIKEN are linked with researchers from private industry to "promote effective technology transfer by providing the place and framework for these researchers to advance at full speed." Our rallying cry for meeting the needs of industry is, "From challenge to achievement."
The RIKEN Innovation Center was formed with the reorganization of the Center for Intellectual Property Strategies (CIPS) which was created in 2005 to further RIKEN President Ryoji Noyori's imperative to become a RIKEN that is useful to the world. The RInC is a part of the new RIKEN Cluster for Innovation.
We will continue to promote collaborations with industry.
