This research team develops state-of-the-art, frequency-agile, tunable THz-wave sources and highly sensitive THz-wave detectors which exploit new THz-wave application fields. THz-wave source and detector of our own design and methodology which light up the gray zone are created using a nonlinear optical process.
The team also makes an online THz database containing THz spectroscopic data for nearly 200 materials going live and aims expanding to more helpful THz database site.
Moreover, the team actively concentrates on collaboration with research groups both within and without RIKEN to explore new applications through our THz technologies.
