Research Areas

Complex electron systems are at the frontier of development of materials with novel electronic functions. We aim to explore the physics and chemistry of such complex electron systems and to develop novel functionalities based on the concept of electronic phase and phase change. We develop new inorganic materials with high-Tc superconductivity, high performance thermoelectric conversion and novel device functions. We are also constructing a basis for the design of functionalities through understanding of the microscopic nature of complex electrons.

Research Subject

  1. Novel superconductors and new functional materials
  2. Functional devices based on complex electron systems
  3. Frontier probe and theoretical calculation method
