Research Group for Genesis of Matter
Research Areas
The origin of matter in universe as well as elements on the earth is one of major subjects in pure physics, and the knowledge obtained leads to intellectual properties for general public. This Research Group is aiming to understand the origin at each level of matter and also in a unique collaboration scheme. The collaboration scheme, which is realized only in RIKEN, enhances mutual communication and the sharing of knowledge and experience among several research fields. This Group has four research topics; (1) nucleosynthesis in universe studied under collaboration of astrophysicists and nuclear physicists, (2) symmetry and universality in early universe via two extreme approaches of ultra-high energy and ultra-low energy physics, (3) test of symmetry through production of exotic atoms, and (4) creation of new interdisciplinary fields in life-, and material-sciences.
