Research Areas

Our research team investigates a variety of emergent phenomena in strongly correlated electron systems which cannot be understood within the framework of conventional semiconductor/metal physics, in order to construct a new scheme for such systems. In particular, we focus on transport and optical properties in non-trivial spin/orbital structures, aiming at clarifying the correlation between the responses and spin/orbital state. In addition, we focus on electron systems with strong spin-orbit interaction, unraveling its effect on various electronic properties.

Research Subject

  1. Real space observation of non-trivial spin textures
  2. Transport phenomena in non-trivial spin textures
  3. Topological insulators
  4. Systems with strong spin-orbit interaction
