Research Areas

In order to realize the founding principle of RIKEN "Vital Integration for Emergence and Innovation", our division promotes and strengthens collaborative research on four pillars, international, academic, internal, and , industrial. With the goal of solidifying the reputation of RIKEN throughout the world, we are establishing collaborative frameworks to activate the exchange between the distinguished foreign and domestic scientists. Furthermore, we also aim to accelerate collaboration with companies through comprehensive industrial alliances and consortia to support societal development. Our intent is to accomplish this by mixing a broad range of natural science without boundaries, promoting the maximization of the characteristic leading edge research of this institution, pioneering new research areas with a long term view, and accelerating exchange between different fields. Ceaselessly binding together the highly fragmented research of today and constructing a dynamic collaboration of knowledge is our aim. Since October 2008, dedicated coordinators have been employed and through their activity collaboration has been vigorously promoted.
