Seeking Research Scientist or Postdoctoral Researcher
Laboratory Computational Chemistry Research Unit, RIKEN Advanced Institute for Computational Science
(Unit Leader: Dr. Kimihiko HIRAO)
Research Field AICS is the organization which has two major divisions, one for research and development of computational science and the other for operation of the K supercomputer. AICS cooperates with many research organizations of a wide-range of research fields, forms an international center for research and development, and plays the leading role of computational science in Japan. In AICS, computer science and computational science closely cooperate, and conducts research and development of common foundational nature for a wide range of fields in computational science, and also conducts research and development for high performance computing technologies.

Hirao Computational Chemistry Research Unit is doing theory development and application calculations of the density functional theory (DFT). Recently there has been considerable interest in the development and assessment of our new exchange functionals based on the long-range correction (LC) scheme. LC solves many of DFT problems. LC-DFT has emerged as a powerful computational tool for the chemical systems. In order to achieve the goal, we conduct research in the following three fields:
1. Theory development and applications of LC-DFT
2. Development of Time-Dependent DFT
3. Development of linear -scaling algorithms
