Global Research Cluster
RIKEN-KRIBB Joint Research Unit
Unit Leader: Shunji Takahashi (D.Agr.)
This team is collaborating with the Chemical Biology Research Center of KRIBB directed by Dr. Jong Seog Ahn on the integrative research of bioactive compounds derived from microorganisms. The goal of this joint team is the discovery of drug candidate compounds through the chemical biology research from the chemical studies such as screening, isolation and structure determination to the biological studies such as evaluation of biological activity and the understanding of the mechanism of action. Exchange and long-term stay of researchers will promote the formation of a human network.
Research Subjects
- Target identification of bioactive compounds
- Screening and isolation of novel bioactive microbial products
