Vertebrate embryogenesis is a complicated process that involves a number of cell-cell interactions in emrbyonic tissues. This group in focusing on molecular mechnisms underlying cell-cell interaction (inductive process) in organogenesis of complex organs such as brain. Also, we attempt to establish scientific bases for therapeutic application of in vitro differentiation systems.

Research Subjects

  • Molecular mechanisms of fine positional information controlling brain development
  • Molecular analysis on brain pattern formation by using ES cells
  • Selective in vitro differentiation of cells and tissues for therapeutic application
