Title: Exploring the Essence of Life
Next-Generation Integrated Simulation of living Matter R&D Project
In October 2006, the RIKEN was selected as the research and development base for the grand challenge applications in life sciences, and then the Computational Science Research Program is carrying out research and development for the Next-Generation Integrated Simulation of Living Matter (ISLiM) to make full use of the power of the 10-PFlops Japanese supercomputer, K computer, and enable ground-breaking new simulations until the end of FY2013.
The video introduces the progress of the program and state-of-the-art scientific results as of the end of FY2010 in an easy-to-understand format.
- RICC (RIKEN Integrated Cluster of Clusters):
The ideal partner of reserchers

Produced in 2009; 17 minutes
This video introduces the supercomputer RICC (RIKEN Integrated Cluster of Clusters), which was put into operation in August 2009. It overviews (the function/ the system of) RICC and explains how the progress of computer technologies are interrelated with the progress of the science, while introducing the messages from the researchers involved.
