The Byon IRU is a new multi-disciplinary laboratory in the field of energy storage/conversion combining with nanotechnology. Postdoctoral researcher
The Byon IRU is seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researchers to study electrochemical reaction of lithium-oxygen battery. We prefer the qualified candidates who have worked with EC-AFM (electrochemical atomic force microscopy)/STM more than 1 year, nanoscience, and electrochemistry.

Qualification

This position requires Ph. D. degree and research background in chemistry, physics, materials science and engineering, or chemical engineering. The research environment in the unit is international and English will be used for communication while the knowledge of Japanese is preferred.

Salary and benefits

  1. Full-time position with an annually renewable contract based on the evaluation up to the end of the project (up to 2016.01).
  2. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  3. Commuting and housing allowances will be provided. Social insurance will be applied.
  4. Days off includes public holidays, New Year's holidays (Dec. 29 - Jan 3), and RIKEN Foundation Day.
  5. Mandatory membership in the RIKEN Mutual Benefit Society (RIKEN Kyosaikai).
    These and other provisions are in accordance with RIKEN regulations.

Also, eligible for an exemption from repayment for category 1 scholarship loans provided by the Japan Student Services Organization before fiscal year 2003, and eligible applying for the MEXT Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (Kakenhi).
